The Family Nurse Partnership is a home visiting service for first time, young mothers and their babies. With the mother's permission, support can also include fathers and other family members.
Specially trained Family Nurses provide regular home visits. These visits usually start early in pregnancy and continue until the child is at least 1 year old. Support will not continue beyond the child's second birthday.
The Family Nurse Partnership is a preventive programme. It aims to give children the best possible start in life and to support families to build a positive future.
Family Nurses work with parents to help them:
The service runs Monday to Friday in homes and community settings. It does not run at weekends or on Bank Holidays.
Family Nurses work closely with Nottinghamshire Family Hubs, Health Visitors and School Nursing services.
The Family Nurse Partnership is available across Nottinghamshire County.
