Children and young people facing mental health challenges, including those experiencing eating disorders or perinatal mental health issues, need access to safe, healing environments. Green spaces can play a critical role in their recovery and wellbeing. That’s why we’re launching an appeal to raise £3,000 to develop two much-needed outdoor areas that will benefit both the NHS and the wider community, including schools.
We aim to create two distinct outdoor spaces for children, young people, and their families:
A natural space that supports existing biodiversity, where young people can engage with nature, learn about wildlife, and have the therapeutic experience of spending time with animals. This area offers a peaceful retreat and the chance for hands-on learning and connection to the environment.
A large garden that will cater to a variety of needs. This area will include:
Access to green spaces has been shown to improve both physical and mental health. For young people experiencing mental health issues, these spaces provide an outlet for creativity, relaxation, and connection.
The garden will be designed to cater to all abilities, ensuring that everyone can participate in its activities and enjoy the benefits of spending time in nature.
The rewilding area will serve as a learning environment for young people, combining education on biodiversity with the emotional benefits of being in a natural setting.
We need to raise £3,000 to get this project started. Your donation will help us develop these vital green spaces, creating a nurturing environment for young people to grow, learn, and heal.
Every donation helps us create a space that will make a real difference in the lives of children and adolescents. Whether you hold a fundraising event, share our appeal, or make a personal contribution, your support is invaluable.
